Stop the coronavirus

In the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam groundbreaking research takes place in order to defeat the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. This includes the search for an effective drug for patients suffering from COVID-19 and the development of a vaccine to stop this outbreak and prevent a new one in the near future.

Financial support of individuals and companies is of the greatest importance to enable this research. Every contribution, however small, is greatly appreciated.

Project in the picture

One of the research projects that is in urgent need of financial support is being led by dr Bart Rijnders, a specialist in internal and infectious diseases. “People who have cured from the coronavirus most of the times have protecting antibodies in their blood. And precisely those antibodies can be very helpful to us at the Erasmus Medical Center. They could very well turn out to be a drug for the seriously ill patients suffering from COVID-19.” This research project was rapidly approved by the ethical committee of the Erasmus Medical Center and might be of great importance in the curation of COVID-19 patients. The more financial donors, the quicker this research may lead to valuable results.
